John is one of the earliest industry practitioners of Building Information Modeling (BIM) and is a well-known and highly respected expert who specializes in BIM strategy, digital transformation, project planning and execution from a large owner’s perspective.
John has worked for Gafcon, Inc., an owner’s rep and construction management firm in San Diego, CA, for over 9 years as the Principal BIM Integrator. He has been instrumental in spearheading the authoring of BIM Guidelines for some of the world’s largest companies while assisting multiple large A/E and Construction teams develop BIM Execution Plans and optimize their BIM efforts on large-scale projects.
As an educator he has developed and taught graduate-level BIM classes in the University of Southern California’s world-renown Construction Management Department in Los Angeles as well as several community college-level BIM, architecture, and environmental studies classes at Orange Coast College and Saddleback College in southern California.
